General Wax & Candle Company
A 20th Century "Fourty-Niner", the General Wax & Candle Co. began manufacturing on the first day of the mid-century. January 1st, 1950 after its founder came from the east. Backed by a graduate degree in engineering and seven years in engineering power plant research, plus some fifteen years as plant superintendent for a major eastern candle manufacturer, he was well equipped to undertake this venture.
With this start the Company grew very rapidly and, in the course of the next few years, began to acquire competitive and allied firms. The final acquisition gave General Wax & Candle Co. the most complete line of candles in the industry.
The company's basic and rigid policy is to produce the finest possible in merchandise; to distribute via it's fleet of vehicles and network of strategically placed warehouses, and most important to mark up oour products on a very modest basis with large volume sales as the chief goal.
